Most Expensive Indian Player in IPL 2018
As we already know that there was IPL auction on 27 & 28 January 2018 for the eleventh season of IPL which will be held from 7 April to 27 May 2018. The two teams Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super King returned back to IPL 2018 after two years suspension for involving in IPL 2013 betting case. There were total eight teams. Each team tried its best to purchase the most valuable players. There were many shocking names of players who remain unsold.
The biggest buy of IPl 2018 Auction was Ben stokes by Rajasthan Royals in Rs. 12.5 crore. But if we talk about the Indian Players, Jaydev Unadkat was the most expensive Indian player purchased by Rajasthan Royals in Rs. 11.5 crores.
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals both tried their best to purchase Jaydev Unadkat but at last Rajasthan Royals won the race and invested whooping amount Rs. 11.5 crores for the star player Jaydev Unadkat.
Jaydev Unadkat is a disciplined left-arm pace bowler. He did a great job in IPL 2017 and that’s reason Rajasthan Royal invested so much amount for him.
If we talk about the records of Jaydev Unadkat, he was second leading wicket-taker in IPL 2017 by taking 24 wickets in 12 matches. He performed really well in death overs and master in swinging the ball. He also performed well against in t20 series against Sri Lanka and he was the man of the series. He is also selected for the Indian t20 team against South Africa.
When Jaydev Unadkat came to know about his bid amount in IPL Auction 2018. He became very happy. He said following words in Indian express interview:-
“I was not thinking about the amount. Last Year, I did well and knew that Mahi Bhai and Smith will go for me during the IPL auction. What gave me a boost was that CSK went for me and Kings XI too wanted me in the side. The way they were biding, I must be doing something good.
